Question:

Why are there no Samites in the Book of Mormon?

Answer:

The writings of the Maya state that one of the five sons of the first father of this nation had no male children and therefore did not have a posterity named after him.  This appears to be substantiated by the Patriarchal blessings given by Lehi. (See the 4th chapter of II Nephi)
